Beauty pageant for nuns

Ever seen a really hot nun? Neither have we. In fact, it feels a little immoral (and just...icky) to even imagine a sexy sister stunning visitors at her local convent -- but one Italian priest feels differently.

The Rev. Antonio Rungi will host Miss Sister 2008 on his blog, encouraging nuns from around the world to take part in an online beauty pageant. Starting in September visitors to the site can vote for the nun they find most appealing (in a purely theoretical and non-sexual way of course, because ladies of the church are already married -- to God -- and we're pretty sure that coveting His wife is a one-way ticket to torture and damnation for all eternity, just sayin').

All nuns will wear the traditional habit -- according to Rungi: "We are not going to parade nuns in bathing suits."

Oh good, because we were worried this might get weird.

Olympic obsession Shawn Johnson talks fashion

Shawn Johnson has won a gold medal. She has sponsorship deals with huge companies like McDonald's, coca Cola, Adidas and more. But, we suspect that someday we'll be seeing her with her own fashion line since this girl is an athlete with a big thing for fashion!

WWD got the scoop with the tiny tumbler on who her favorite designers are and her thoughts on heels. They discovered that she's, "addicted to True Religion jeans." Because of her preferences for pieces that are quirky and unique, she absolutely loves Ed Hardy.

As for shoes, as a woman who's a tad on the short side, Shawn is into wearing high heels. But, leading up to the Olympics her coach wouldn't allow her to wear them so she felt deprived. Now that Beijing has come and gone, Shawn got right back in the saddle, wearing 3 inch silver peep toe heels to the first major event she attended.

She said, "It's actually the first time I've worn heels in, like, five months, so it feels a little weird. But I love heels. They make me feel a little more confident."

Lesbian lovers, t.A.T.u., are the new face of Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs likes to surprise people. You could say it's his thing -- just think of Victoria Beckham in a paper bag. Those ads were totally strange, incomprehensible to the average woman, yet more talked about than any other ad campaign that came out at the same time. So while some people might be surprised by Marc's choice to use the girls from t.A.T.u. as the next faces of his brand, the fact that Marc is trying to shock, is no shocker.

t.A.T.u., the Russian duet, most famously known for their M.T.V. 5 minutes of fame after making out on live television in school girl uniforms, will front his Fall/Winter campaign.

Marc will pull them out of obscurity in a way that Mischa Barton's movie with the ladies could never do. We're just interested to see how he's going to do it. Will they be thrown into shopping bags like Posh? Will he be playing off their sexuality and show them making out, like we've seen before? What devilish tricks does Marc have up his sleeve?

Reason for Victoria Beckham's no show at Fashion Week is fear of Katie Holmes

As Kristen reported, Victoria Beckham isn't showing her dVb collection on the runway this year at Fashion Week. Instead, viewings will be by appointment only. Many speculated that Posh didn't want to deal with negative criticism so she was going to keep things under wraps, but new reports say the real reason behind her no show is fear of Katie Holmes!

The two lovely ladies who are simultaneously rumored to be BFF's and arch enemies, or frenemies if you will, are known to be competitive with each other. So when Posh found out that Katie was going to kick off Fashion Week with the Holmes-Yang collection, she decided it was best to keep a low profile during the event.

A source close to Victoria says, "Officially, Victoria's people say no runway show was planned and this has nothing to do with Katie launching her line but the truth is Victoria doesn't want the inevitable comparisons."

Selma Blair wears Nathan Jenden to celebrate cover of LA Confidential

It was a hot day on Crescent drive in Beverly Hills. My buddy Charley and I were sweating in the sun in the noon hours.

Amidst all the hype for her new television show, "Kath and Kim," Selma Blair came straight off a plane from London to celebrate her cover for Niche Media's LA Confidential Summer at the Crescent Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Selma is dressed in a design by Nathan Jenden and Christian Louboutin shoes. The dress is simple, but has slits and cuts in all the right places, showing just enough to raise a conservative cocktail dress to the level of sexy.

I noticed the bottom cuts first, which have white lace underneath. Jenden must take a lot of his creativity as the Creative Director for Diane von Furstenberg and drop them into his latest designs.

Rachel Zoe to do affordable handbag line

Rachel Zoe's brand just keeps growing. For a while she was nothing more than a name behind a group of well dressed but very skinny celebrities. Then Perez Hilton outed her as the force causing the size negative two trend in Hollywood (because size zero just isn't small enough anymore) and she became a wanted woman. Now, aside from her reality show, The Rachel Zoe Project, premiering in September, Rachel will be coming out with her own line of handbags.

As witnessed in the preview for her show, Rachel is hardcore passionate about fashion. She keeps her clients on the cutting edge so it only makes sense that she would come out with her own line.

Rachel says that it was an obvious transition for her, "My goal is to create a lifestyle brand. Something that there's no limit to . . . that will go from belts and sunglasses to jewelry and clothes and fragrance and home."

We are actually pretty excited about this line, because of it's two major elements -- vintage inspired and affordable. You really can't go wrong there. Expect to see the purses in stores starting sometime in early 2009.

Quick Picks: Brad Pitt is just another Venetian dad, trying to catch a gondola

Juggling two kids at a film festival in a foreign country can be a bit of a task -- especially when you're getting swarmed by the bloodthirsty paparazzi. Still, Brad manages to handle the situation with chilled out Mediterranean style as he arrives at the Venice Film Festival.

If he weren't one of the biggest Hollywood stars of his time, he might even fit in with locals. He pulls off the ' hey, I'm casual, but still highly fashionable' look with ease.

Each of these pieces from the pastel blue pants to the straw fedora could look pretty fugly if they weren't part of a really well put-together ensemble. Kudos to Brad for taking some chances.

The only thing we noticed is that he forgot a belt. Maybe a nice light colored tan? He probably left it sitting on the dresser in LA.
